Vicar General urges Sierra Leone judiciary to uphold integrity as new judicial year begins

Paul Morana Sandi urged judges, magistrates, and lawyers to maintain integrity and compassion as the 2026/2027 judicial year begins in Sierra Leone. Speaking at an Annual Thanksgiving Mass at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral in Bo, Sandi reminded legal professionals that their decisions affect human lives and communities beyond the courtroom.

Sandi, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Bo, told the gathered judiciary members to approach their duties with humility, independence, and faithfulness to the law. He noted that every case involves a human story and every accused person is a human being.

The Mass brought together legal practitioners, court officials, and religious leaders from the Bo and Pujehun judicial districts. Government representatives, including the Resident Minister South, also attended the ceremony to mark the start of the new judicial year.
