Vilanova de Meià celebra la festa del sagrament de la Confirmació

Bishop Josep-Lluís Serrano administered the sacrament of Confirmation to Alba de Gàrzola and Eloi de Vilanova de Meià during a Mass on Sunday, September 20. The celebration took place at the Sant Salvador parish church in Vilanova de Meià, a historic building known as the cathedral of Montsec.

The liturgy was presided over by Bishop Serrano and attended by faithful from the Vall de Meià, including people from Santa Maria de Meià and Gàrzola. Parish rector Antoni Pich welcomed the bishop and local authorities, including Mayor Xavier Terré. Other priests in attendance included Cristian Casamitjana, rector of Artesa de Segre, and Jaume Mayoral, rector of Agramunt and archpriest of Urgell Mitjà.

During his homily, Bishop Serrano spoke about managing the gifts of the Holy Spirit effectively. He encouraged the newly confirmed to live out these spiritual gifts, which were represented by candles placed at the foot of the altar. Musician Aran Sala provided the music for the service.
