Villanova University awards Pope Leo XIV Sustainability medal

Villanova University will present the Pope Leo XIV Sustainability medal on October 13 at the Borgo Laudato si’ in Castel Gandolfo. Pope Leo XIV will personally present the award to the first recipient of the honor.

The university will hold a press conference in the Vatican on September 14 to announce the recipient and present details for the 2026 Villanova University International Sustainability Conference. This upcoming conference will address the cry of the poor and the cry of creation. Robert Francis Prevost is an alumnus of the university.
