Vinalesa honra a sus beatos mártires con dos nuevos lienzos en el 25 aniversario de su beatificación

San Honorato Parish in Vinalesa will celebrate the feast of Blessed Martyrs Arturo Ros Montalt and Father Aurelio de Vinalesa this Sunday, September 20. The celebration includes an 11:30 a.m. Mass presided over by Salvador Giménez Valls, the bishop emeritus of Lleida.

The parish commissioned two large canvases featuring the images of the martyrs to mark the 25th anniversary of their beatification. Enrique Roig, the parish priest, said the new paintings aim to provide more iconographic representations than the small photographs and relics currently held by the parish. The artworks were created by Ricardo González del Alba, a fine arts student from Seville.

During the Mass, the parish will bless the canvases before they are placed in the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament. Roig stated the goal is to give the martyrs a more prominent role in the community as intercessors and witnesses of faith who were born in Vinalesa.
