Visita ad limina, missione, comunità religiose: pubblicati i rapporti del Gruppo di studio 6 e 7

The General Secretariat of the Synod released the final reports from Study Group 6 and Study Group 7 on September 8, 2026. The first report focuses on documents regarding relations between bishops, consecrated life, and ecclesial aggregations, while the second report concerns ad limina visits.

These texts contain proposals offered to Pope Leo XIV rather than decisions already made. The competent dicasteries and the General Secretariat of the Synod will translate these indications into operational proposals to submit to the Pope. Cardinal Mario Grech stated that the reports emphasize that mission requires converted relationships between bishops, religious communities, and the people of God. He noted that both texts center on differentiated co-responsibility.

The General Secretariat of the Synod stated that Pope Leo XIV ordered the reports to be made public to share the results of reflection and discernment with the entire People of God, practicing transparency and accountability.
