Visite pastorale dans le doyenné de Chèvremont

Bishop Jachiet visited the Chèvremont deanery on September 19, 2026, to meet with parishioners and discuss the future of the local Church. This visit marks the fourth stage of the bishop's pastoral tour through the deaneries of the Diocese of Belfort–Montbéliard.

The bishop addressed the decline in the number of priests, noting that 4 priests remain to serve the various parishes in the deanery. He stated that he did not come to announce decisions but instead encouraged the community to look toward the future. He emphasized the need to avoid a spiritual desert and discussed how to live out faith when Sunday services are no longer available every week.

During the meeting, groups shared reflections on parish life. A representative named Pierre identified priorities for the organizing team, including integrating all generations, welcoming new parishioners, and improving communication. The diocese expects these reflections to continue for several months to influence the evolution of parish life.
