Watch Archbishop Hicks Celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving for the Beatification of Fulton Sheen at the Cathedral of St. Mary

Archbishop Ronald A. Hicks celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving for the beatification of Fulton J. Sheen at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Peoria on Sept. 25. The Mass took place one day after the beatification of Sheen in St. Louis.

During the Mass held near the tomb of the newly beatified Sheen, Archbishop Hicks described Sheen as a model for evangelization and encouraged pilgrims to live the Gospel as he did. The archbishop included Spanish in the celebration to express the unity of the Church and the participation of the Hispanic community in its mission.
