Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller of San Antonio shared a weekly message on September 18, 2026, encouraging people to seek mercy and let go of resentment.

The Archbishop noted that human hearts often remain restless because resentment creates a burden people were not meant to carry. He referenced Saint Augustine to explain that life is a story of God's patient pursuit rather than personal achievement. García-Siller also cited Pope Leo XIV, who stated that forgiveness prevents hatred from taking hold of the heart.

The message, which appeared in the archdiocesan newsletter The New Messenger, reminded the faithful that their identity belongs to God rather than their injuries or grudges.
