Who are the 72 people behind the miraculous healings at the Shrine of Lourdes?

The Office for the Verification of Miracles at the Shrine of Lourdes reports that the total number of recognized miraculous healings at the shrine has reached 72 following the recent recognition of Antonia Raco.

Raco was suffering from primary lateral sclerosis, a severe neurodegenerative disease. According to the doctor in charge of the Office for the Verification of Miracles, her cure occurred suddenly one morning despite her severe clinical condition.

Data from the shrine shows that four out of every five miracles have involved women. While the typical profile historically involved French women suffering from tuberculosis, the frequency of declared miracles has decreased as medical conditions change over time. Only two people have been declared cured without a medical explanation so far this century, compared to four cases recognized last century. Of the total miracles recorded since the apparitions began in 1858, seven were recognized in 1862 alone.
