Witnessing Beatification An Answer to My Prayers

Cardinal Luis Tagle, pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, presided over the beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis. During the ceremony, Tagle read the official decree in Latin and English to an estimated 50,000 pilgrims.

The event included a 40 minute opening procession featuring 88 bishops and over 2,100 priests, deacons, religious, and seminarians. The program preceding the Eucharistic celebration included presentations on the life of Fulton Sheen, interviews in a recreated office setting, and remarks from guest bishops from St. Louis and Peoria, Illinois, as well as Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop Emeritus of New York.
