Workshop focuses on family-first formation of kids’ faith
The Diocese of Honolulu held a workshop on September 26 at St. Elizabeth Church in Aiea to help parish leaders support parents as the primary faith teachers for their children. The event brought together several dozen representatives from Oahu parishes, including pastors, catechists, faith formation leaders, and families.
Jayne Ragasa-Mondoy, a national consultant with the National Community for Catechetical Leaders and the former director of faith formation for the diocese, led the session. According to the Hawaii Catholic Herald, the workshop aimed to build knowledge on how families share spirituality during a child's first two decades, help leaders assess ways to support faith transmission at home, and connect local leaders with national resources.
