World-renowned Catholic musician Matt Maher returns to Phoenix for concert tour

Catholic musician Matt Maher will perform in Phoenix as part of an upcoming concert tour.

Maher, a nine-time Grammy nominee and three-time GMA Dove Award winner, previously lived in Phoenix after moving from Newfoundland, Canada, in 1995. During that time, he was introduced to the local Church community through a cousin at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Tempe. Maher told the Bishop’s Hour podcast that attending Mass at that parish helped deepen his commitment to the Church.

While living in the area, Maher served at St. Timothy Parish in Mesa after finishing his music degree. He gained national recognition in 2008, the same year he performed for Pope Benedict at a youth event in New York.
