Pope Leo XIV discussed the results of his apostolic journey to France during a press conference on his flight from Metz to Rome on September 28, 2026. Speaking to 80 journalists, the Pope reviewed his visits to Paris, Lourdes, and Metz. He noted that the trip provided an opportunity to encourage young people.

The Pope described his time in Lourdes as a blessing, noting that he observed the presence of God through the experiences of sick and suffering people. He stated that these encounters restored dignity to the elderly and those marginalized by society.

During the briefing, the Pope addressed several global and social issues, including the ethics of protecting life, the housing crisis in Europe, and the dangers of uncontrolled artificial intelligence. He also spoke about the problem of sexual abuse in the Church, the need to overcome war, and the risks associated with rearmament.
