“Your new stage requires a total commitment”: Catholic Archbishop to Sisters at Perpetual Profession in Angola

Archbishop Filomeno do Nascimento Vieira Dias urged three sisters to dedicate their lives to God, the Church, and their neighbors during their perpetual profession in Angola. The ceremony for Idalina Tchiala, Adriana Paulo, and Sínia took place on August 29 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in the Archdiocese of Luanda.

During the Mass, Archbishop Dias told the members of the Congregation of the Sisters, Daughters of Charity of Mary Immaculate (FCMI) that their new stage of life requires total commitment through obedience, chastity, and poverty. He said their consecrated lives should serve as a visible witness of love, peace, comfort, and hope.

The Archbishop explained that making solemn vows is the result of a journey that starts with a call from God and matures through formation, community life, and discernment. He noted that consecration involves a sister's entire existence, including how she thinks, speaks, acts, and relates to others.
