ZAMBIA: Catholic Sisters encouraged to intentionally engage and strengthen social enterprises

Catholic sisters in Zambia are encouraged to work purposefully with investors, business leaders, and financial institutions to strengthen enterprises that support their health, education, and social ministries.

Dr. Angela Ndunge, a senior academic at Strathmore University Business School and principal investigator of the Sisters’ Blended Value Project, made this call during the Annual Zambia Social Entrepreneurship and SMEs Conference and Expo in Lusaka on September 10, 2026. She urged consecrated women to move beyond conventional business practices to develop enterprises that demonstrate innovation and financial resilience.

The conference focused on building resilience in finance and market readiness for social enterprises and small businesses. Dr. Ndunge stated that adapting to changing economic landscapes is necessary for these organizations to achieve lasting impact.
