Vicar General of Ndola Archdiocese Urges Newly Professed Sisters To Walk By Faith

Vicar General Ephraim Mulenga Mapulanga encouraged three Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi to remain committed to their religious calling during their final profession on September 19, 2026. Sandra Masuwa, Charity Mulenga, and Haggah Mulenga made their final vows during a Mass at Divine Mercy Parish in Ndola.

Fr. Mapulanga presided over the celebration on behalf of Archbishop Benjamin Phiri. In his homily, Fr. Mapulanga told the sisters to walk by faith rather than sight, noting that religious life presents challenges and temptations that require prayer and trust in God. He advised the sisters to practice obedience to both their superiors and God.

Fr. Mapulanga also asked the families of the sisters to provide ongoing prayer and support. He stated that relatives should not leave the sisters to navigate their religious journey alone simply because they have entered religious life.
