A blind journalist and his wife avoided a serious car accident after deciding to make an unplanned stop at a monument of Mary in Konotopiu. Grzegorz Dudziński, a journalist from Bydgoszcz, was traveling from Ciechanów when his wife, Edyta, noticed a large statue of the Mother of Mercy and several blue flags along national road number 10.

Although they had already passed the exit, Dudziński felt an urge to turn the car around. The couple spent several minutes at the monument, where Dudziński used a special application to help him understand the images he photographed from the observation deck.

A few kilometers after resuming their trip toward Bydgoszcz, the couple encountered the aftermath of a collision between a truck and a passenger car. Edyta recognized the wrecked vehicle as the car that had been driving directly in front of them. Dudziński noted that the delay caused by their stop at the statue prevented them from being at the site of the crash when it occurred.
