Zmarł ks. kan. Jan Gancarz, emeryt zam. w Domu Księży Emerytów EMAUS w Korczynie

The Diocese of Przemyśl announced the death of Father Canon Jan Gancarz on September 20, 2026. A retired priest, he most recently lived at the EMAUS Home for Retired Priests in Korczyna.

Born on August 9, 1942, in Rudnik nad Sanem, Gancarz studied theology at the Seminary in Przemyśl from 1960 to 1966. He was ordained a priest in Przeworsk on June 26, 1966. His ministry included serving as a parochial vicar in Krzemienica, Niebieszczany, Leszczawa, Chmielnik, Radymno, and Bieździedza. He also served as the administrator of the Nowosielce Kozickie parish and as the pastor of the Nowosielce Gniewosz parish. He moved to the retirement home in Korczyna in 2012.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Church of NMP Królowej Polski in Korczyna. The Rosary will be held at 11.00, followed by the Eucharist at 11.30. The burial will follow at the local cemetery.
