Zurbarán: the “Spanish Caravaggio” goes on world tour

A series of exhibitions across Europe and the United States will celebrate the visual legacy of Spanish painter Francisco de Zurbarán this fall.

The exhibitions highlight the Baroque artist's use of chiaroscuro and his ability to depict vivid emotions in his subjects. Known as the Spanish Caravaggio, Zurbarán left a lasting impact on European Baroque painting.
