Andorran PM says abortion to be legal by April, with or without Vatican support (Pillar)

Andorran Prime Minister Xavier Espot announced that abortion will be legal in Andorra by April, regardless of whether the Vatican supports the move.

Espot leads the government of the principality, where the heads of state are the co-princes consisting of the president of France and the bishop of Urgell, Spain. Under the current system, the approval of only one of these co-princes is required for legislation to take effect.

The nation has a population of 85,000 people, with 89% identifying as Christian and 88% as Catholic.
