Jesuit Prakash: Young people are awakening India's democratic conscience

Indian Jesuit Father Cedric Prakash says student protests in India reflect the younger generation's desire to defend democracy, the Constitution and pluralism. The protests emerged spontaneously, spreading from major cities to small towns and villages. Students from different religious communities, social groups and backgrounds united as "Indian citizens," committed to the Constitution.
