Auxiliary Bishop Bui goes to school in Rome

Auxiliary Bishop Peter Dai Bui traveled to Rome this month for an eight day formation program with 147 other bishops ordained within the last year. The gathering, which included Bishop James Misko of the Diocese of Tucson, provides new bishops with time for prayer, fellowship, and training.

Bishop Bui, who was ordained in February 2026, said the experience helps new bishops realize they are supported by the Church and their fellow bishops.

As the second auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Phoenix, Bui assists Bishop John Dolan and Auxiliary Bishop Eduardo Nevares in serving the diocese. He also serves as the Vicar for Clergy.
