Celebration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the “Legion of Mary”

Cardinal Stephen Chow Sau-yan, Bishop of Hong Kong, presided over a Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Legion of Mary. The liturgy included 24 concelebrating priests and five deacons.

The Hong Kong Comitium of the Legion of Mary organized the thanksgiving Mass to mark the anniversary of the association, which was originally founded in Dublin on September 7, 1921. The group has been officially established in Hong Kong since December 1948 and currently has approximately 6,000 active and auxiliary members.

Members of the association engage in apostolic work by visiting the elderly and those living alone, working with children and young people, and supporting others in their faith journeys. According to the weekly newspaper Kung Kao Po, the group uses its disciplined structure to help young people pursue holiness and witness to their faith in a secularized society.
