Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops-backed group confirms Hichilema’s victory

The Christian Churches Monitoring Group, backed by the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops, confirms President Hakainde Hichilema’s victory in the August 13 elections. The group recorded irregularities in 30 constituencies. Hichilema received approximately 56% of the vote, while the main opposition candidate, Brian Mundubile, secured approximately 42.3%.
