The Diocese of Padova has announced the death of Don Gianni Spagnolo on September 12, 2026, in Camposampiero.

Born on December 20, 1943, in Fratte di S. Giustina in Colle, Spagnolo was the youngest of eight children born to Alfonso and Regina Martellozzo. He began his religious formation in September 1955 at the Thiene minor seminary, known as Al Barcon. After completing his high school studies, he moved to Padova in September 1964 to begin his preparatory year of studies.
