Cardinal Zuppi meets Niscemi citizens after landslide

Cardinal Matteo Zuppi met with citizens in Niscemi on September 13 to show support for those affected by a recent landslide. The Archbishop of Bologna and president of the Italian Episcopal Conference spoke at a city council meeting and later visited the Mother Church to meet with residents who were forced to leave their homes.

During the visit, Zuppi told the community that they would overcome the situation together. The Italian Church is also contributing to the recovery of a local elementary school impacted by the landslide.
