German Catholic Humanitarian Organization Assures Displaced South Sudanese of Continued Support

Misereor, the German Catholic bishops' organization for development cooperation, has pledged continued support for displaced people in South Sudan. During a visit to the Holy Family Parish at the Malakal Protection of Civilians site in Upper Nile State, Misereor Director Father Andreas Frick told displaced families that the German Catholic Church remains mindful of their suffering, faith, and resilience.

Father Frick noted that while violence remains a major challenge to the country's progress, South Sudan has achieved successes in agriculture and education. He expressed admiration for the people of South Sudan, describing the nation as a place of hope and solidarity despite its difficulties.

The visiting delegation included Archbishop Stephan Burger of the Catholic Archdiocese of Freiburg im Breisgau and Bishop Stephen Nyodho Ador Majwok of the Catholic Diocese of Malakal.
