The Global Center for Human Rights (GCHR) works to defend life, family, and religious freedom through legal and diplomatic influence at the United Nations and the Inter-American system. Sebastián Schuff, an Argentine lawyer serving as president and CEO, founded the organization to address what he described as a coordinated global offensive against these values. Schuff noted that starting in 2010, countries such as Argentina, Mexico, El Salvador, and the United States faced simultaneous legislative and judicial attacks driven by a shared ideological narrative.

The GCHR shifted its strategy to target international law and high-level institutions because local efforts alone were insufficient to stop policies that were often negotiated and funded externally. The organization began its advocacy by engaging with the Organization of American States to strengthen the protection of these principles within international and state legislation.
