Gus March-Phillipps, le commando catholique qui inspira James Bond

Catholic commando Gustavus Henry March-Phillipps participated in Operation Aquatint on September 12, 1942. During this mission, a small group of soldiers landed near Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes on the German-occupied French coast.

The landing did not go as planned, as the group immediately came under German fire upon reaching the shore. March-Phillipps is noted as an inspiration for the character James Bond.
