Il Papa nomina il nuovo Vescovo della Diocesi di Terni-Narni-Amelia

Pope Francis has appointed Alfonso Raimo as the new bishop of the Diocese of Terni-Narni-Amelia. Raimo moves to the diocese from the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno, where he served as an auxiliary bishop and held the titular see of Termini Imerese.

Born on July 2, 1959, in Calabritto, Raimo was ordained a priest on March 18, 1990. He served as a parochial vicar and later as a pastor in Fisciano from 1990 to 2011. His previous roles include serving as a regional coordinator for missionary pastoral care for the Campania Episcopal Conference and teaching at the Istituto Teologico Salernitano and the Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religiose of Salerno.

The appointment follows a transition period for the diocese after Bishop Francesco Antonio Soddu transferred to Sassari. Diocesan administrator Matteo Antonelli had previously called the faithful together to communicate this development for the local Church.
