Cardinal Ignace Bessi Dogbo, the Archbishop of Abidjan, shared his pastoral vision for a synodal Church that is financially independent and serves everyone. In an interview with Zenit, the Archbishop of Abidjan described his goal of developing a Church model based on the concept of a family of God.

The Archbishop has served as a bishop for 22 years. He previously served as the bishop of Katiola and Korhogo before his appointment to Abidjan in May 2024. He also led the Episcopal Conference of Côte d’Ivoire for six years.

Pope Francis named him a cardinal in December 2024, and he participated in his first conclave in May 2025. He also took part in the Synod sessions held in 2023 and 2024.
