Bishop Pavlo Honcharuk of Kharkiv met with Pope Leo XIV at the Apostolic Palace on September 11 to urge all possible efforts to end the war in Ukraine. Honcharuk represents one of the Ukrainian dioceses most affected by violence and bombings.

During the meeting, Honcharuk thanked the Pope for his prayers, care, and assistance in releasing prisoners and returning children. The bishop also invited the Pope to visit Ukraine.
