The Catholic Church in Iceland inaugurated the Holy Cross church in Selfoss on Saturday to serve a community of more than 1,000 faithful. The new building provides the first stable center for Catholics in the southern part of the country.

Approximately 600 people attended the consecration of the temple, which was presided over by the bishop.
