Spiritans in Africa hold workshop on interreligious dialogue

Spiritan dialogue coordinators from across Africa and the islands met for a five-day workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, to strengthen interreligious engagement. Held from September 6 to 10 at the Rosa Mystica Spiritual Centre, the training session focused on the theme of dialogue in truth and charity to provide pastoral guidelines for the continent.

The workshop brought together 25 participants from the Spiritans Conference of Circumscriptions in Africa and the Islands. Representatives from the interfaith association EFESIA, Hizmet East Africa, the Muslim League Africa, and the United Religions Initiative also attended.

Father Henry Omwoyo, the Vice Provincial, stated that dialogue is a core part of the congregation's identity rather than an optional task. He noted that engaging people of other faiths defines the Spiritans as missionaries, a practice rooted in the congregation's early encounters with diverse cultures and religions.
