Pontificia Accademia delle Scienze receives first volume of Bibbia di Aquileia facsimile

The Pontifical Academy of Sciences received the first volume of a facsimile of the Bibbia di Aquileia, a medieval manuscript kept at the Gorizia Cathedral. This project uses digital innovation and traditional craftsmanship to reproduce the work.

All 5 volumes of the facsimile are scheduled to be completed by 2031. Bishop Viganò described the manuscript as a cultural heritage that helped build the idea of Europe. The donation was made to both the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.
