La misa de apertura de curso de la comunidad universitaria será en Cartagena

The University Pastoral Ministry of the Diocese of Cartagena will celebrate a Mass to open the academic year for public universities in the Region of Murcia on Thursday, September 24. The liturgy will take place at 9:00 at the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús (San Diego) parish in Cartagena.

Students, professors, researchers, and administrative staff from the University of Murcia and the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena are invited to attend. Rectors and their teams from both institutions will also participate.

The event coincides with the national opening of the 2026-2027 academic year for universities, an act presided over by King Felipe VI. Pedro García Casas, the episcopal delegate for University Pastoral Ministry, said the Mass allows the university community to entrust their studies, teaching, research, and work to God for the coming year.
