Maiden Diocesan Assembly in Republic of the Congo to Focus on Unity and Co-responsibility

Bishop François Halyday Mbouangui will convene the first Diocesan Assembly for the Catholic Diocese of Nkayi in the Republic of the Congo on October 3. The gathering will take place at the Bishop Ernest Kombo Hall under the theme of unity and co-responsibility to build the diocese.

The assembly brings together priests, religious men and women, parish representatives, and leaders of ecclesial movements. Participants will evaluate the local Church and establish pastoral priorities for the 2026–2027 year.

Bishop Mbouangui described the event as a time for prayer, reflection, and pastoral consultation. He stated that the meeting will help the community assess its progress and determine future directions to support the Church's mission of evangelization.
