The Archdiocese of Alba Iulia reported that a candlelight procession took place in Székelyudvarhely on Saturday evening to honor the memory of the Csíksomlyó Marian statue. Participants gathered in the main square of the city around a replica of the statue.

The event commemorated the 110th anniversary of the period when the statue was moved to the Barátok templom to protect it from advancing Romanian troops. During that time, many faithful visited the church to seek the statue.
