Melilla impone la Medalla de Oro a la Mesa Interconfesional

The city of Melilla awarded the Gold Medal of the City to the Interfaith Board during a ceremony at the Assembly Palace on Wednesday. The board, which brings together representatives from the Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and Hindu communities, received the distinction alongside the Melilla Ciudad del Deporte Torreblanca Club.

Eduardo Resa spoke on behalf of the Christian community during the presentation. Resa, who is leaving Melilla to serve the Corpus Christi community, received words of thanks from the president of the autonomous city, Juan José Imbroda, for his service. Other speakers included Abdeselam Hassan Abselam, vice president of the Islamic Commission; Elías Chocrón, president of the Jewish community; and Ramesh Ramchand, president of the Hindu community.

The Interfaith Board was established in 2000 with support from emeritus bishop Ramón Buxarrais.
