Mexican bishop restricts lay presiding at liturgical celebrations

A Mexican bishop has imposed restrictions on laypeople presiding at liturgical celebrations and on the use of vestments intended for clergy. Laypeople who have not been instituted in the stable ministry of acolyte may not preside over certain celebrations. The restrictions apply to celebrations of the Word, funeral rites, sacramentals, and other liturgical acts proper to ordained ministers.
