Nairobi Catholic Archbishop Urges Kenyans to Embrace Cardinal Otunga’s Legacy of Humble Service

Speaking at a Mass on September 5 at the Resurrection Garden in Nairobi, where Cardinal Otunga is buried, Archbishop Anyolo noted that the 23rd anniversary of the Cardinal's death serves as a time to thank God for his life and reflect on Christian responsibilities. The Archbishop stated that the commemoration is an opportunity to consider how the witness of Cardinal Otunga should impact the faithful today.

Cardinal Otunga was the first Kenyan born cardinal and served the Church as a priest, bishop, and Archbishop of Nairobi. Archbishop Anyolo remarked that despite holding various Church offices, the Cardinal maintained a fundamental identity as a servant of God.
