New Book on Theology of Suffering Lauded as Timely amid Growing Disregard for Others’ Sorrow

The Bishop emeritus of the Apostolic Vicariate of Soddo in Ethiopia said the book is a necessary tool because modern media often minimizes the physical and moral suffering of millions. He noted that the work does not try to solve the mystery of why people suffer but instead offers a way to see suffering as a reality of life that may hold hidden meaning.

Bishop Rodrigo, a member of the Society of Jesus, described the publication as a resource for both those experiencing hardship and those helping others. He stated that by using the Bible and theological works, the book provides readers with a foundation for hope and strength.
