Mercy College opens new facilities

Mercy College in Koondoola recently opened two new facilities, the Dublin technologies building and the Comfort Café school cafeteria. The college community gathered for the blessing and opening to commemorate 180 years since the Sisters of Mercy arrived in Western Australia.

The event marked the historical connection between the college and the city of Dublin, Ireland, where Catherine McAuley founded the Sisters of Mercy in 1831. On January 8, 1846, six Sisters of Mercy arrived at Fremantle from Ireland before traveling up the Swan River.
