Pope Leo XIV discussed the inalienable dignity of the human person during a general audience on Wednesday, September 9, at St. Peter's Square.

During his catechesis, the pope drew from the first chapter of the conciliar constitution Gaudium et Spes, which addresses humanity and its inherent dignity. He stated that human dignity is inseparable from the very essence of a person.
