Nigerian Salesian Superior Urges Youth to Create Social Media Content That Promotes Faith and Good Morals

Fr. Peter Chinweike Morba, the Provincial Superior of the Salesians of Don Bosco Nigeria-Niger Province, has encouraged young people to use social media to promote the Catholic faith and moral values. Speaking during the Salesians Youth Movement national congress at the St. Dominic Savio community in Kubwa, Abuja, Fr. Morba said youth can help shape the digital environment by creating content that counters harmful material online.

Fr. Morba told ACI Africa on September 16 that social media offers an opportunity for young people to assist with the Church's mission of evangelization and catechesis. He suggested that by producing creative content, youth can teach others and spread Church teachings to their peers.

The priest also advised young Nigerians to maintain their Christian values despite the country's ongoing insecurity and economic challenges.
