Pope Leo XIV told the faithful during a general audience that people must not leave human decisions to algorithms. During his catechesis on the pastoral constitution Gaudium et Spes, he urged the building of deep relationships in an era defined by social media and artificial intelligence.

The Pope said political projects should be judged by how well they respect human dignity. He warned that opposing the development of individuals or society would endanger both. He also condemned murder, genocide, abortion, euthanasia, and suicide.
