Parish Initiative Inspired by Mother Teresa Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Serving Vulnerable Across Eastern Africa

The I Thirst Street Kids Organization is celebrating 10 years of providing aid to street children, the sick, the elderly, and vulnerable communities across Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. Founded in 2017 under Sacred Heart Baba Dogo Parish in the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi, the organization currently supports approximately 100 children with food, shelter, and education.

Director Fred Obat said the organization aims to follow the example of St. Teresa of Calcutta by helping people facing hardship. In addition to supporting local street children, the program assists foreigners, including women from Rwanda and Tanzania. Obat noted that the mission provides hope through direct action and requested continued support from sponsors and well-wishers.

Obat credited Bishop John Oballa Owaa of Ngong Diocese and Archbishop Philip Subira Anyolo of Nairobi Archdiocese for their ongoing support of the organization.
