Patriarch, Notre Dame launch Jerusalem peace research initiative (Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem)

Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, and the University of Notre Dame launched a research project called Within Your Gates. The interdisciplinary initiative brings together scholars and practitioners from various faith traditions and academic disciplines to study the universal mission and significance of Jerusalem for residents of the Holy Land and the rest of humanity.

Cardinal Pizzaballa stated that the mission of earthly Jerusalem is to reflect the peace and reconciliation that God desires for all people. The project seeks to return to this mission through collaborative study and engagement.
