Pope declares Guadalupan Jubilee Year; plenary indulgence for pilgrims (Desde la fe)

Pope Leo XIV has declared a Guadalupan Jubilee Year to mark the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the new Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The jubilee begins on October 12 and will last for exactly one year.

Pilgrims visiting the basilica can receive a plenary indulgence by praying the Our Father and the Creed and participating in a liturgical act or spending time in prayer at the site. To receive the indulgence, pilgrims must also meet the usual conditions of confession, communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father.
