Pope Francis has appointed Father León Dorado, O.M.I., as the coadjutor archbishop of Rabat, Morocco. Father Dorado currently serves as the apostolic prefect of Western Sahara and has acted as the apostolic administrator of the archdiocese of Rabat since 2026.

Born in Madrid, Spain, in 1974, Father Dorado studied information technology before earning a theology degree from the San Dámaso Faculty of Theology. He joined the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and was ordained a priest in 2001. His previous assignments include serving as a parish assistant in Jaén, Spain, and working in the apostolic prefecture of Western Sahara, where he served as apostolic administrator from 2009 to 2013 before becoming apostolic prefect in 2013.

The Holy See also appointed Monsignor Matteo Visioli, Father Davide Cito, and Father Massimo Del Pozzo as referendaries to the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura.
